A technique for speculatively executing load-dependent instructions includes detecting that a memory ordering consistency queue is full for a completed load instruction. The technique also includes storing data loaded by the completed load instruction into a storage location for storing data when the memory ordering consistency queue is full. The technique further includes speculatively executing instructions that are dependent on the completed load instruction. The technique also includes in response to a slot becoming available in the memory ordering consistency queue, replaying the load instruction. The technique further includes in response to receiving loaded data for the replayed load instruction, testing for a data mis-speculation by comparing the loaded data for the replayed load instruction with the data loaded by the completed load instruction that is stored in the storage location.
The derivation of a non-invasive prompt neutron decay constant sensitivity coefficient is provided in this work. The computation of the sensitivity coefficient derived in this work does not require modification of Monte Carlo source code and is based on capabilities available in Monte Carlo N-Particle R© Code Version 6.2. The prompt neutron decay constant sensitivity coefficients are calculated for 44-group and 252-group energy structures for specific nuclide-reaction pairs in the Jezebel benchmark experiment. The nuclide-reaction pairs investigated in this work include Pu- 239(n,f), Pu-240(n,f), and Pu-241(n,f). Physical explanations of the sensitivity profiles exhibited by the 252-group energy structure are investigated for the prompt neutron multiplication factor, mean neutron lifetime, and prompt neutron decay constant. The prompt neutron decay constant sensitivity coefficients calculated for the 44-group and 252-group energy structure of Pu-239(n,f) are compared. Lastly, the 44-group energy structure sensitivity coefficients calculated are used for nuclear-data induced uncertainty quantification of the neutron multiplication factor. This work shows that a reduction in the nuclear data-induced uncertainty of the neutron multiplication factor is possible for all nuclide-reaction pairs investigated when prompt neutron decay constant sensitivity coefficients are utilized. This is important for new critical experiment design optimization studies of measurement configurations. This work provides a basis for more detailed sensitivity analysis and uncertainty quantification of nuclide, reaction, and energy-specific cross section data.

An apparatus and method for facilitating the removal of layers from a die for an integrated circuit while maintaining the planarity of the surface of the die by avoiding rounding the corners and other edges of the die. A pocket is created in a sacrificial material, such that when the die is inserted into the pocket the edges of the die are contiguous with the walls of the pocket and a top surface of the die is coplanar with a top surface of the pocket. The sacrificial material may be the same material as the die. An adhesive substance is placed in the pocket, and the die is inserted into the pocket and against the adhesive substance which aids in retaining the die in the pocket. The layers may then be removed from the die and the sacrificial material around the die without rounding the edges of the die.
