Electrical Evaluation of RCA MWS5001D Random Access Memory, Volume 4, Appendix C

The electrical characterization and qualification test results are presented for the RCA MWS5001D random access memory. The tests included functional tests, AC and DC parametric tests, AC parametric worst-case pattern selection test, determination of worst-case transition for setup and hold times, and a series of schmoo plots. Statistical analysis data is supplied along with write pulse width, read cycle time, write cycle time, and chip enable time data.

Electrical Evaluation of RCA MWS5001D Random Access Memory, Volume 5, Appendix D

The electrical characterization and qualification test results are presented for the RCA MWS 5001D random access memory. The tests included functional tests, AC and DC parametric tests, AC parametric worst-case pattern selection test, determination of worst-case transition for setup and hold times, and a series of schmoo plots. Average input high current, worst case input high current, output low current, and data setup time are some of the results presented.

Electrical Characterization of the RCA CDP1822SD Random Access Memory, Volume 1, Appendix a

Electrical characteristization tests were performed on 35 RCA CDP1822SD, 256-by-4-bit, CMOS, random access memories. The tests included three functional tests, AC and DC parametric tests, a series of schmoo plots, rise/fall time screening, and a data retention test. All tests were performed on an automated IC test system with temperatures controlled by a thermal airstream unit. All the functional tests, the data retention test, and the AC and DC parametric tests were performed at ambient temperatures of 25 C, -20 C, -55 C, 85 C, and 125 C. The schmoo plots were performed at ambient temperatures of 25 C, -55 C, and 125 C. The data retention test was performed at 25 C. Five devices failed one or more functional tests and four of these devices failed to meet the expected limits of a number of AC parametric tests. Some of the schmoo plots indicated a small degree of interaction between parameters.

Electrical Characterization of Hughes HCMP 1852D and RCA CDP1852D 8-bit, CMOS, I/O Ports

Twenty-five Hughes HCMP 1852D and 25 RCA CDP1852D 8-bit, CMOS, I/O port microcircuits underwent electrical characterization tests. All electrical measurements were performed on a Tektronix S-3260 Test System. Before electrical testing, the devices were subjected to a 168-hour burn-in at 125 C with the inputs biased at 10V. Four of the Hughes parts became inoperable during testing. They exhibited functional failures and out-of-range parametric measurements after a few runs of the test program.

A command and data subsystem for deep space exploration based on the RCA 1802 microprocessor in a distributed configuration

The Command and Data Subsystem (CDS) is an RCA 1802microprocessor based subsystem that acts as the central nervous system for the Galileo Orbiter Spacecraft. All communication between the ground and spacecraft flows through the CDS. The CDS also distributes commands in real time, algorithmetrically expanded from a data base loaded from the ground and in response to spacecraft alarms. The distributed microprocessor system is configured as a redundant set of hardware with three microprocessors on each half. The microprocessors are surrounded by a group of special purpose hardware components which greatly enhance the ability of the software to perform its task. It is shown how the software architecture makes a distributed system of six microprocessors appear to each user as a single virtual machine, and collectively as a set of cooperating virtual machines that prevent the simultaneous presence of the several users from interfering destructively with each other.

Low and moderate resolution spectroscopy with an RCA charge-coupled device /CCD/

An RCA buried channel thinned 320 x 512 CCD has recently been put into operation as the detector on the blue side of a new double spectrograph used at the Cassegrain focus of the Hale 5.08 m telescope. The chip is used in a vacuum dewer at a temperature of -132 C. The readout noise over most of the chip is 46 electrons per pixel, but on one side of the device there are columns with readout noise three times as high as this. When used in a spectroscopic mode with an f/1.5 beam, the CCD shows interference pattterns with an amplitude of 5 to 20%. This pattern occurs most clearly above 5000 A. It appears to be stable and can be removed by using standard flat-field exposures. At signal levels of a few hundred electrons there are some charge transfer problems. The quantum efficiency between 4000 and 6500 is very high, and the efficiency at 3260 A is about 20% of that at 4200 A. Above 6500 A the sensitivity begins to drop steadily.

Rca's Planned Test Program to Compare the Performance and Life of Nicd Cells Containing Pellon 2536 in Contrast with Pellon 2505 Separator Material

RCA Astro-Electronics will be characterizing and life-testing two groups of hermetically-sealed aerospace nickel-cadmium cells to determine the effect, if any, of a separator change on cell performance. This test, designed to provide information for a specific low-Earth-orbit satellite application, will also add to the overall data-base for cells with the new separator.

Model-Invariant Hybrid Computations of Separated Flows for RCA Standard Test Cases

NASA's Revolutionary Computational Aerosciences (RCA) subproject has identified several smooth-body separated flows as standard test cases to emphasize the challenge these flows present for computational methods and their importance to the aerospace community. Results of computations of two of these test cases, the NASA hump and the FAITH experiment, are presented. The computations were performed with the model-invariant hybrid LES-RANS formulation, implemented in the NASA code VULCAN-CFD. The model- invariant formulation employs gradual LES-RANS transitions and compensation for model variation to provide more accurate and efficient hybrid computations. Comparisons revealed that the LES-RANS transitions employed in these computations were sufficiently gradual that the compensating terms were unnecessary. Agreement with experiment was achieved only after reducing the turbulent viscosity to mitigate the effect of numerical dissipation. The stream-wise evolution of peak Reynolds shear stress was employed as a measure of turbulence dynamics in separated flows useful for evaluating computations.

Electrical Characterization of Hughes HCMP 1853D and RCA CDP1853D N-bit, CMOS, 1-of-8 Decoder Microcircuits

Electrical characterization tests were performed on two different manufactured types of integrated circuits. The devices were subjected to functional and AC and DC parametric tests at ambient temperatures of -55 C, -20 C, 25 C, 85 C, and 125 C. The data were analyzed and tabulated to show the effect of operating conditions on performance and to indicate parameter deviations among devices in each group. Accuracy was given precedence over test time efficiency where practical, and tests were designed to measure worst case performance.
