Measurement of the branching fraction of ψ ( 2 S ) → γ π 0

Based on ( 2712.4 ± 14.1 ) × 10 6 ψ ( 2 S ) events, 7.9 fb − 1 ψ ( 3773 ) data, and 0.8 fb − 1 off-resonance data samples collected with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fraction of ψ ( 2 S ) → γ π 0 and e + e − → γ π 0 form factor at momentum transfers Q 2 ∼ 13 GeV 2 . The e + e − → γ π 0 cross section is fitted with considering the interference between the ψ ( 2 S ) and continuum amplitudes and two solutions are found, B = 3.74 × 10 − 7 with ϕ = 3.93 rad and B = 7.87 × 10 − 7 with ϕ = 2.08 rad . Here, B is the branching fraction of ψ ( 2 S ) → γ π 0 and ϕ is the relative phase angle between the ψ ( 2 S ) and continuum amplitudes. Due to insufficient off-resonance data, the branching fraction B ( ψ ( 2 S ) → γ π 0 ) is determined to be in the range [ 2.7 , 9.7 ] × 10 − 7 within 1 standard deviation of the contour region. Measurement of the branching fraction of the decay B − → D 0 ρ ( 770 ) − at Belle II

We measure the branching fraction of the decay B − → D 0 ρ ( 770 ) − using data collected with the Belle II detector. The data contain 387 million B B ¯ pairs produced in e + e − collisions at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance. We reconstruct 8360 ± 180 decays from an analysis of the distributions of the B − energy and the ρ ( 770 ) − helicity angle. We determine the branching fraction to be ( 0.939 ± 0.021 ( stat ) ± 0.050 ( syst ) ) % , in agreement with previous results. Our measurement improves the relative precision of the world average by more than a factor of two. Published by the American Physical Society 2024

Observation of time-dependent C P violation and measurement of the branching fraction of B 0 → J / ψ π 0 decays

We present a measurement of the branching fraction and time-dependent charge-parity ( C P ) decay-rate asymmetries in B 0 → J / ψ π 0 decays. The data sample was collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB asymmetric e + e − collider in 2019–2022 and contains ( 387 ± 6 ) × 10 6 B B ¯ meson pairs from ϒ ( 4 S ) decays. We reconstruct 392 ± 24 signal decays and fit the C P parameters from the distribution of the proper-decay-time difference of the two B mesons. We measure the branching fraction to be ( B 0 → J / ψ π 0 ) = ( 2.00 ± 0.12 ± 0.09 ) × 10 − 5 and the direct and mixing-induced C P asymmetries to be C C P = 0.13 ± 0.12 ± 0.03 and S C P = − 0.88 ± 0.17 ± 0.03 , respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. We observe mixing-induced C P violation with a significance of 5.0 standard deviations for the first time in this mode. Published by the American Physical Society 2025

Measurement of the branching fraction of the decay J / ψ → p p ¯ η

A high-precision measurement of the branching fraction of the decay J / ψ → p p ¯ η is performed using ( 10 087 ± 44 ) × 10 6 J / ψ events recorded by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring. The branching fractions of the two decays J / ψ → p p ¯ η ( η → γ γ ) and J / ψ → p p ¯ η ( η → π + π − π 0 ) are measured individually to be B ( J / ψ → p p ¯ η ( η → γ γ ) ) = ( 1.480 ± 0.001 ± 0.024 ) × 10 − 3 and B ( J / ψ → p p ¯ η ( η → π + π − π 0 ) ) = ( 1.557 ± 0.003 ± 0.038 ) × 10 − 3 , where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Both results are compatible within their uncorrelated systematic uncertainties. The combined result is B ( J / ψ → p p ¯ η ) = ( 1.495 ± 0.001 ± 0.023 ) × 10 − 3 , where the first uncertainty is the combined statistical uncertainty and the second one the combined systematic uncertainty of both analyses, incorporating correlations between them. In addition, the p p ¯ threshold region is investigated for a potential threshold enhancement, and no evidence for one is observed. Published by the American Physical Society 2024

Measurement of the branching fraction and search for CP violation in D 0 → K $^{0}_{S}$ K $^{0}_{S}$ ⁢π + ⁢π - decays at Belle

We measure the branching fraction for the Cabibbo-suppressed decay D 0 → K $^{0}_{S}$ K $^{0}_{S}$ ⁢π + ⁢π - and search for CP violation via a measurement of the CP asymmetry A CP as well as the T-odd triple-product asymmetry a$^{T}_{CP}$. Improved measurement of the branching fraction of hc → γη′/η and search for hc → γπ0

Abstract The processesh c → γP(P=η′, η, π 0 ) are studied with a sample of (27.12±0.14)×10 8 ψ(3686) events collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The decayh c → γηis observed for the first time with the significance of 9.0σ, and the branching fraction is determined to be (3.77±0.55±0.13±0.26)×10 −4 , while$$ \mathcal{B} $$ B (h c → γη′) is measured to be (1.40±0.11±0.04±0.10)×10 −3 , where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second systematic, and the third from the branching fraction ofψ(3686)→ π 0 h c . The combination of these results allows for a precise determination of$$ {R}_{h_c}=\frac{\mathcal{B}\left({h}_c\to {\pi}^0\gamma \eta \right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({h}_c\to {\pi}^0\gamma {\eta}^{\prime}\right)}, $$ R h c = B h c → γη B h c → γ η ′ , which is calculated to be (27.0±4.4±1.0)%. The results are valuable for gaining a deeper understanding ofη − η′ mixing, and its manifestation within quantum chromodynamics. No significant signal is found for the decayh c →γπ 0 , and an upper limit is placed on its branching fraction of$$ \mathcal{B} $$ B (h c →γπ 0 )<5.0×10 −5 , at the 90% confidence level.

Measurement of the Branching Fractions $\mathcal{B}(B^0 → p\bar{p}p\bar{p})$ and $\mathcal{B}(B^0_S → p\bar{p}p\bar{p})$

Searches for the rare hadronic decays $B^0 → p\bar{p}p\bar{p}$ and $B^0_S → p\bar{p}p\bar{p}$ are performed using proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb –1 . Significances of 9.3⁢σ and 4.0⁢σ, including statistical and systematic uncertainties, are obtained for the $B^0 → p\bar{p}p\bar{p}$ and $B^0_S → p\bar{p}p\bar{p}$ signals, respectively. The branching fractions are measured relative to the topologically similar normalization decays B 0 → J/ψ⁢(→ $p\bar{p}$)⁢K* 0 ⁡(→ K + ⁡π – ) and B$^0_s$→J/ψ⁢(→ $p\bar{p}$) $\phi$(→K + ⁢K – ). The branching fractions are measured to be $\mathcal{B}(B^0 → p\bar{p}p\bar{p})$ = (2.2 ± 0.4 ± 0.1 ± 0.1)×10 –8 and $\mathcal{B}(B^0_S → p\bar{p}p\bar{p})$ = (2.3 ± 1.0 ± 0.2 ± 0.1)×10 –8 . In these measurements, the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third one is due to the external branching fraction of the normalization channel.

Measurement of the ratio of the $𝐵^+_𝑐 → 𝐽/𝜓⁢𝜏^+⁢𝜈_𝜏$ and $𝐵^+_𝑐 → 𝐽/𝜓⁢𝜇^+⁢𝜈_𝜇$ branching fractions using three-prong 𝜏 lepton decays

The ratio between the $𝐵^+_𝑐 → 𝐽/𝜓⁢𝜏^+⁢𝜈_𝜏$ and $𝐵^+_𝑐 → 𝐽/𝜓⁢𝜇^+⁢𝜈_𝜇$ branching fractions is measured using a data sample of proton-proton collisions collected by CMS at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV in the years 2016–2018 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb −1 . The 𝐽/𝜓 meson is identified through its 𝐽/𝜓 → 𝜇 + ⁢𝜇 − decay and the tau lepton is reconstructed in the hadronic three-prong final state. The measured ratio of branching fractions in this tau decay mode, ℛ had 𝐽/𝜓 = $1.0⁢4^{+0.50}_{−0.44}$, is combined with the previous analysis based on the 𝜏 + $→ 𝜇^+⁢𝜈_𝜇\bar{𝜈}_𝜏$ leptonic decay channel, leading to ℛ 𝐽/𝜓 = 0.49 ± 0.26. As this result is consistent with the standard model prediction of 0.258 ± 0.004, no evidence of lepton flavor universality violation is found.

Search for CP violation and measurement of branching fractions and decay asymmetry parameters for Λ$^+_c$ → Λ h + and Λ$^+_c$ → Σ 0 h + ( h = K, π )

Here, we report a study of Λ$^+_c$ → Λ h + and Λ$^+_c$ → Σ 0 h + ( h = K, π ) decays based on a data sample of 980 fb -1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e + e - collider. The first results of direct CP asymmetry in two-body singly Cabibbo-suppressed (SCS) decays of charmed baryons are measured, A$^{dir}_{CP}(Λ^+_{c} → ΛK^{+})$ = +0.021 ± 0.026 ± 0.001 and A$^{dir}_{CP}(Λ^+_{c} → Σ^{0}K^{+})$ = +0.025 ± 0.054 ± 0.004. We also make the most precise measurement of the decay asymmetry parameters (α) for the four modes of interest and search for CP violation via the α-induced CP asymmetry (A$^α_{CP}$ ). We measure A$^α_{CP}$ ($Λ^+_{c} → ΛK^{+}$) = -0.023 ± 0.086 ± 0.071 and A$^α_{CP}$ ($Λ^+_{c} → Σ^{0}K^{+}$) = +0.08 ± 0.35 ± 0.14, which are the first A$^α_{CP}$ results for SCS decays of charmed baryons. We search for Λ -hyperon CP violation in $Λ^+_{c}$ → (Λ, Σ 0 )π + and find A$^α_{CP}$(Λ → pπ - ) = +0.013 ± 0.007 ± 0.011 . This is the first time that hyperon CP violation has been measured via Cabibbo-favored charm decays. No evidence of baryon CP violation is found. We also obtain the most precise branching fractions for two SCS Λ$^+_c$ decays, $\mathscr{B}$($Λ^+_{c} → ΛK^{+}$) = (6.57 ± 0.17 ± 0.11 ± 0.35) x 10 -4 and $\mathscr{B}$($Λ^+_{c} → Σ^{0}K^{+}$) = (3.58 ± 0.19 ±0.06 ±0.19) x 10 -4 . The first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic, while the third uncertainties come from the uncertainties on the world average branching fractions of $Λ^+_{c}$ → (Λ, Σ 0 )π + .

Measurements of the branching fractions B ( B ¯ 0 → D * + π - ) and B ( B ¯ 0 → D * + K - ) and tests of QCD factorization

Using (771.6 ± 10.6) × 10 6 $B\overline{B}$ meson pairs recorded by the Belle experiment at the KEKB e + e - collider, we report the branching fractions $\mathscr{B}$($\overline{B}$ 0 → D* + π - ) = (2.62 ± 0.02 ± 0.09 X 10 -3 and $\mathscr{B}$($\overline{B}$ 0 → D* + K - ) = (2.22 ± 0.06 ± 0.08) × 10 -4 ; the quoted uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. A measurement of the ratio of these branching fractions is also presented, R K/π = $\mathscr{B}$($\overline{B}$ → D* + K - )/ $\mathscr{B}$($\overline{B}$ → D* + π - ) = (8.41 ± 0.24 ± 0.13) × 10 -2 , where systematic uncertainties due to the D* + meson reconstruction cancel out. Furthermore, we report a new QCD factorization test based on the measured ratios for $\overline{B}$ → D* + h - and $\overline{B}$ → D* + ℓ - $v$ decays at squared momentum transfer values equivalent to the mass of the h = π or K hadron. The parameters |a 1 (h)| are measured to be |a 1 (π)| = 0.884 ± 0.004 ± 0.003 ± 0.016 and |a 1 (K)| = 0.913 ± 0.019 ± 0.008 ± 0.013, where the last uncertainties account for all external inputs. These values are approximately 15% lower than those expected from theoretical predictions. Subsequently, flavor SU(3) symmetry is tested by measuring the ratios for pions and kaons, |a 1 (K)| 2 /|a 1 (π) 2 | = 1.066 ± 0.042 ± 0.018 ± 0.023, as well as for different particle species. The ratio is consistent with unity and therefore no evidence for SU(3) symmetry breaking effects is found at the 5% precision level.
