IKOS: Sound Static Program Analysis
This is a tutorial on how to use the IKOS tool for static analysis of C/C++ code for flight critical system. The tutorial explains what static code analysis is, what kind of errors IKOS can find, and how to use the tool on single or multiple file projects. Simple examples are given to illustrate the use of the tool. This tutorial also describes the use of IKOS on real mission code, in this case, the flight software for the BioSentinel mission and the Troupe project in the Robust Software Engineering group.
Expansion of Existing Research and Analysis Programs
Small-grants programs play a vital role in Heliophysics research. They are a modest investment with a huge scientific payoff. Frequently, it is individuals and small research groups funded by small grants that make the high-innovation breakthroughs that have such a transformative impact on a field. Small grants also give most early-career researchers their first experience as principal investigator – experience they need to eventually become leaders in their field. We therefore recommend that existing NASA programs like Heliophysics Supporting Research (HSR), Heliophysics Guest Investigator (HGI), and Heliophysics Technology and Instrument Development for Science (HTIDeS) be greatly expanded. We also recommend that funding opportunities be created for mid-size grants, $500-1000K/yr, either as part of existing programs or with new programs dedicated to this size.
Computer Programs For Analysis Of Thermally Reactive Tracer Tests In Geothermal Reservoirs
The Tracer Analysis Toolbox (TAT) is a stand-alone executable software package that focuses on reservoir monitoring, using changes in concentration of thermally degrading tracers between and injection well and a production well to reflect the temperature-time histories along flow paths through the reservoir. By conducting such tests periodically, the thermal evolution of the flow paths connecting injection wells to production wells can be monitored. Because this approach is sensitive to temperature along the whole path, it can detect changes well before they occur at the distal end of the path (i.e., the production well). Thus, the thermally degrading tracer method provides early detection of thermal decline before it impacts that well. The goal of TAT is to simplify planning of a reactive tracer monitoring campaign and interpretation of results by providing: (1) tracer test planning and analysis tools to define the necessary kinetic parameters, injection concentrations, and other tracer parameters that are suitable for the expected reservoir residence time and temperature, (2) identification of tracers with suitable characteristics (defined by (1)) and (3) a suite of analysis programs to analyze tracer test results.

Program planning and economic analysis for Manned Orbital Research Laboratory
Banning design automation software implementation
The research is reported for developing a system of computer programs to aid engineering in the design, fabrication, and testing of large scale integrated circuits, hybrid circuits, and printed circuit boards. The automatic layout programs, analysis programs, and interface programs are discussed.
Integrated Analysis Capability Program
Integrated Analysis Capability (IAC) software system provides highly effective, interactive analysis tool for integrated design of large structures. Developed to serve as interface for programs from fields of structures, thermodynamics, controls, and system dynamics with executive system and data base to yield highly-efficient multidisciplinary system. Written in FORTRAN 77.
Integrated Analysis Capability Program
Integrated Analysis Capability (IAC) software system intended to provide highly effective, interactive analysis tool for integrated design of large structures. Supports needs of engineering analysis groups concerned with interdisciplinary problems. Developed to serve as software interface between computer programs from fields of structures, thermodynamics, controls, and dynamics of systems on one hand and executive software system and data base on other hand to yield highly efficient multi-disciplinary system. Special attention given to such users' requirements as handling data and online assistance with operational features and ability to add new modules of user's choice at future date. Written in FORTRAN 77.
Standardization and program effect analysis (Study 2.4). Volume 3: Design-to-cost analysis
The program procedures that were incorporated into an on-going "design-to-cost" spacecraft program are examined. Program procedures are the activities that support the development and operations of the flight unit: contract management, documents, integration meetings, engineering, and testing. This report is limited to the program procedures that were implemented, with emphasis on areas that may depart from normal satellite development practices.
Nickel-Cadmium Cell Design Variable Program Data Analysis
A program was undertaken in conjunction with the General Electric Company to evaluate 9 of the more important nickel cadmium aerospace cell designs that are currently being used or that have been used in the past 15 years. Design variables tested in this program included teflonated negative plates, silver treated negative plates, light plate loading level, no positive plate cadmium treatment, plate design of 1968 utilizing both old and new processing techniques, and electrochemically impregnated positive plates. The data acquired from these test packs in a low Earth orbit cycling regime is presented and analyzed here. This data showed conclusively that the cells manufactured with no positive plate cadmium treatment outperformed all other cell designs in all aspects of the program and that the cells with teflonated negative electrodes performed very poorly.

Computer program for compressible flow network analysis
Program solves problem of an arbitrarily connected one dimensional compressible flow network with pumping in the channels and momentum balancing at flow junctions. Program includes pressure drop calculations for impingement flow and flow through pin fin arrangements, as currently found in many air cooled turbine bucket and vane cooling configurations.
Computer program for flexible rotor dynamics analysis
Program analyzes general nonaxisymmetric and nonsynchronous transient and steady-state rotor dynamic performance of bending- and shear-wise flexible rotor-bearing system under various operating conditions. Program can be used as analytical study tool for general transient spin-speed and/or non-axisymmetric rotor motion.
Computer program performs statistical analysis for random processes
Random Vibration Analysis Program /RAVAN/ performs statistical analysis on a number of phenomena associated with flight and captive tests, but can also be used in analyzing data from many other random processes.
Small-Signal ac Analysis
Program simulates power circuits and systems. Small Signal A.C. Analysis program (SSAC) valuable tool for design and analysis of electrical-power-system circuits. By combining "black box" power-system components operating in specified manner, user characterizes system modeled. Menu-driven program proved simple and cost effective in development and modification of arbitrary power-system configurations. Package includes sample data from Dynamic Explorer satellite family. Results compared favorable to calculations from such general circuit-analysis programs as SPICE. Written in FORTRAN 77.
