Understanding the Design Space of Sparse/Dense Multiphase Dataflows for Mapping Graph Neural Networks on Spatial Accelerators
Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have garnered a lot of recent interest because of their success in learning representations from graph-structured data across several critical applications in cloud and HPC. Owing to their unique compute and memory characteristics that come from an interplay between dense and sparse phases of computations, the emergence of reconfigurable dataflow (aka spatial) accelerators offers promise for acceleration by mapping optimized dataflows (i.e., computation order and parallelism) for both phases. The goal of this work is to characterize and understand the design-space of dataflow choices for running GNNs on spatial accelerators in order for the compilers to optimize the dataflow based on the workload. Specifically, we propose a taxonomy to describe all possible choices for mapping the dense and sparse phases of GNNs spatially and temporally over a spatial accelerator, capturing both the intra-phase dataflow and the inter-phase (pipelined) dataflow. Using this taxonomy, we do deep-dives into the cost and benefits of several dataflows and perform case studies on implications of hardware parameters for dataflows and value of flexibility to support pipelined execution.

Advanced Multi-Dimensional Capacitance Sensors Based Subsea Multiphase Mass Flow Meter to Measure and Monitor Offshore Enhanced Oil
This innovation is based on advanced multi-dimensional extensions of ECVT sensors that involve ECVT, Displacement Current Phase Tomography (DCPT), Maxwell-Wagner-Sillars polarization effect (MWS), and velocimetry which exploit the variation of electric properties between the oil, water, and gas coming out of the well. Capacitance sensors are embedded on the inside of a pipe spool and placed in-line with the subsea oil line piping on the extraction end of the well. The difference in dielectric, dielectric loss, surface polarization, and velocity of each phase are used in the multi-dimensional algorithm to measure the volume fraction, distribution, velocity, mass flow rate, and flow regime of the mixture moving through the pipe.

Multiphase eruptions associated with the craters Tycho and Aristarchus.
In 1967 part of Tycho and all of Aristarchus were photographed from Orbiter 5 with a ground resolution of about 5 m. Geologic units of Tycho are discussed together with crater counts in and near to Tycho, counts of small craters near to Surveyor 7, geologic units of Aristarchus, and crater counts in and near to Aristarchus. It is concluded that both Tycho and Aristarchus probably originated in the same manner, although there were differences in their later development. Extensive lava flows issued from the inner and outer rims of both craters. Flows from small craters in the vicinity of the Tycho and Aristarchus structures show that these small craters are volcanic. This establishes that one class of lunar volcano, at least, resembles an impact crater.
