Inputs and Outputs for paper "The DESC stellarator code suite. Part 1. Quick and accurate equilibria computations"

Contains the DESC and VMEC input and output files used in the paper, as well as the plotting scripts used to create the figures in the paper (Current with the arXiv Mar 31 2022 version, https://arxiv.org/abs/2203.17173v1): 3D equilibrium codes are vital for stellarator design and operation, and high-accuracy equilibria are also necessary for stability studies. This paper details comparisons of two 3D equilibrium codes, VMEC, which uses a steepest-descent algorithm to reach a minimum-energy plasma state, and DESC, which minimizes the MHD force error in real space directly. Accuracy as measured by final plasma energy and satisfaction of MHD force balance, as well as other metrics, will be presented for each code, along with the computation time. It is shown that DESC is able to achieve more accurate solutions, especially near-axis. DESC's global Fourier-Zernike basis also yields the solution everywhere in the plasma volume, not just on discrete flux surfaces. Further, DESC can compute the same accuracy solution as VMEC in an order of magnitude less time.

GRIDCERF - Geospatial Raster Input Data for Capacity Expansion Regional Feasibility

The Geospatial Raster Input Data for Capacity Expansion Regional Feasibility (GRIDCERF) data package is a high-resolution product to evaluate siting suitability for renewable and non-renewable power plants in the conterminous United States. GRIDCERF offers hundreds of individual suitability layers for use with both renewable and non-renewable power plant technology configurations in a harmonized format that can be easily ingested by geospatially-enabled modeling software. It also provides pre-compiled technology-specific suitability layers and allows for user customization to robustly address science objectives when evaluating varying future conditions. GRIDCERF data can be directly used with the CERF (Capacity Expansion Regional Feasibility) model to site power plants at a 1km resolution. GRIDCERF includes composite technology siting suitability raster layers for the following utility scale technology configurations. Note that, in addition to technology sub-types shown below, various cooling types are also included (recirculating, pond, once-through, recirculating-seawater, dry-hybrid, or dry) for various technologies. HYBRD (High Resolution HYBrid Regional Downscaling) Model: Input data and Code

The HYBRD (HYBrid Regional Downscaling) model is a high-resolution urban land downscaling model that can be used to downscale intermediate urban land use and land cover (LULC) products into a high-resolution (30-meters). HYBRD uses a sequential hybrid process, combining statistical models with cellular-automata-based spatial algorithms. This repository contains all the necessary model code and inputs needed to successfully run HYBRD for Los Angeles, California. The repo also contains example outputs of each model step, except the final simulated raster outputs. Examples of simulated raster outputs for multiple scenarios for Los Angeles are available at DOI: 10.57931/2575233. Please refer to Related Works below.

Legacy Survey of Space and Time Data Preview 2: deep_coadd_input_summary dataset type

We present Rubin Data Preview 2 (DP2), the second data preview from the NDF-DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory. Data Preview 2 (DP2) comprises coadds, detection catalogs, and ancillary data products; and when fully released will also include single-epoch images and difference images. DP2 is derived from observations acquired by the LSST Science Camera (LSSTCam) on the Simonyi Survey Telescope at the Summit Facility on Cerro Pachón, Chile, primarily during the on-sky commissioning campaign between 2025-04-16 and 2025-09-21, supplemented by observations taken between 2025-10-25 and 2026-01-06 that overlap the commissioning footprint. The DP2 footprint comprises the Science Validation wide-area survey, five Deep Drilling Fields, and a number of targeted small-field regions, including Trifid and Lagoon, Prawn, M49, and New Horizons, all observed as part of the Rubin First Look campaign. Each field was imaged in up to six broad photometric bands, ugrizy, and coadded to produce deep imaging covering an estimated 3,000 deg2. The addition of single-visit-only areas expands the total DP2 footprint to an estimated 15,000 deg2, with coverage in at least one filter. The median per-visit PSF FWHM across the wide-area survey ranges from 1.17 arcsec in the z band to 1.26 arcsec in g and r bands. The deepest field, reaches estimated coadded 5σ depths of u=26 mag, g=26.8 mag, r=26.3 mag, i=26.1 mag, z=25.3 mag, y=23.9 mag. Based on a roughly five-month primary observing baseline and covering only part of the eventual LSST footprint, DP2's area, depth, and multiband coverage nonetheless support a broad range of early science investigations ahead of LSST Data Release This dataset is a subset of the full data release consisting of the deep_coadd_input_summary dataset type. These are summary of the visit images that contribute to each deep coadd patch. This release contains 1 dataset of this type.

Power supply including a nonlinear transmission line that receives a single input pulse and outputs a plurality of pulses

Technologies pertaining to a power supply that includes a nonlinear transmission line are described herein. In an embodiment, a DC power supply comprises a pulsing circuit that receives a DC input and outputs a first plurality of pulses having a first frequency to a nonlinear transmission line. The nonlinear transmission line receives the first plurality of pulses and outputs a second plurality of pulses having a second frequency that is greater than the first frequency. The second plurality of pulses is then received at an amplifier/rectifier circuit that amplifies the second pulses to increase a voltage amplitude of the pulses, and rectifies the pulses to provide a substantially constant DC output.

Distributed multi-input multi-output control theoretic method to manage heterogeneous systems

A processing unit includes a plurality of subsystem control modules. Each subsystem control module includes a set of one or more inputs that receives a set of one or more external signals and a set of one or more monitored outputs from a hardware subsystem corresponding to the subsystem control module, and a set of configuration outputs for controlling one or more configuration settings of the hardware subsystem. The subsystem control module determines the one or more configuration settings based on the set of monitored outputs and on one or more targets derived from the set of external signals.

Characterization of build parameters and microstructure in low heat input WAAM of Ni-based superalloy Haynes 282

Conference paper for 2024 10th International Conference on Advances in Materials, Manufacturing & Repair for Power Plants. Ni-based superalloy Haynes 282 is a prime candidate for advanced power generation systems due to its superior fabricability, weldability, and high-temperature performance. Additive manufacturing offers potential cost and time savings for gas turbine components. Wire-arc direct energy deposition can create large components but often requires post-processing treatments, such as hot isostatic pressing (HIP), to address porosity. This study explores a low heat-input, high deposition rate GMAW process to achieve fully dense Haynes 282 without HIP. Twenty-one blocks were deposited, varying travel and wire feed speeds. Initial analysis (visual inspection, microstructural examination, and CT) revealed the impact of build parameters on internal porosity and defects. Scanning electron microscopy provided insights into structural heterogeneity and microstructural properties. Sentinel-1 Input Data for PSInSAR Analysis

Files used to perform the Persistent Scatterer InSAR analysis with SARPROZ. The data is sourced from ESAs Sentinel-1 project and covers Brady Hot Springs and Desert Peak geothermal areas. The original titles are included for the Sentinel-1 data. The naming guide is included as a link in this submission. The data contains SAR (Radar) data from the Sentinel 1A satellite between July 2017 and December 2019. The data is necessary to replicate our results, and can be used for further PSInSAR, DInSAR and other modern interferometric analyses to determine line of sight, vertical and, possibly, East-West horizontal displacement. These displacement analysis show the soil deformation in time (including average displacement velocity), which can be used to indicate subsoil phenomena: temperature changes, subsidence, uplift, and inform other analyses like seismicity and porosity.
