The Wide Field Infrared Survey Explorer surveyed most of the sky in the Mid-Infrared From January through September of 2010. In addition to 120 comets, more than 30 Centaurs and Scattered Disc Objects (SDOs) were observed and discovered. We will present preliminary results from the analysis ofthese outer solar system bodies.
MCG-5-23-16 is one of the first active galactic nuclei (AGNs) where relativistic reverberation in the iron K line originating in the vicinity of the supermassive black hole was found, based on a short XMM-Newton observation. In this work, we present the results from long X-ray observations using Suzaku, XMM-Newton, and NuSTAR designed to map the emission region using X-ray reverberation. A relativistic iron line is detected in the lag spectra on three different timescales, allowing the emission from different regions around the black hole to be separated. Using NuSTAR coverage of energies above 10 keV reveals a lag between these energies and the primary continuum, which is detected for the first time in an AGN. This lag is a result of the Compton reflection hump responding to changes in the primary source in a manner similar to the response of the relativistic iron K line.

Nuclear graphite plays a pivotal role in the advanced reactor program. Consequently, developing a viable method to measure and evaluate small samples is essential. The Digital Image Correlation (DIC) technique allows for the examination of much smaller components in real-time applications, particularly concerning reactor capsule design and placement within the reactor. These samples become crucial for understanding the behavior of nuclear graphite before and after radiation exposure. They serve as a means to analyze changes and effectively measure the mechanical strength properties, which may or may not alter following irradiation.
While the study of bordered (pseudo-)holomorphic curves with boundary on Lagrangian submanifolds has a long history, a similar problem that involves (special) Lagrangian submanifolds with boundary on complex surfaces appears to be largely overlooked in both physics and math literature. We relate this problem to geometry of coassociative submanifolds in G 2 holonomy spaces and to Spin(7) metrics on 8-manifolds with T 2 fibrations. As an application to physics, we propose a large class of brane models in type IIA string theory that generalize brane brick models on the one hand and 2d theories T[M 4 ] on the other.
