Poplar

SAND2025-00683O Poplar is a software tool that generates a phylogenetic tree from input gene and genome sequences. It integrates established tools to identify genes within genomes, group sequences, construct gene trees, and infer a species tree. Poplar processes nucleotide sequences, identifies similar sequences using Nucleotide BLAST, groups them with DBSCAN, aligns sequences with MAFFT, constructs gene trees with RAxML-NG, and infers a species tree using ASTRAL-Pro3. This pipeline provides a structured approach to phylogenetic analysis, facilitating the study of evolutionary relationships among species. SAND2025-00675O Tusqh is a software tool that generates cubical meshes in 2D and 3D and computes the homology of these meshes using persistent homology. It includes a grid cell in the output if its volume-fraction is above a selectable threshold, estimated by sampling points within the cell. Tusqh incorporates anti-aliasing algorithms to mitigate grid orientation and scale effects. It is designed for creating finite element meshes for simulations and can be used in various applications such as heat diffusion, mechanical simulations, and computer graphics rendering. The software outputs meshes in an open format compatible with downstream software. PyTrac

Simple Battery Hazard Calculator

SAND2025-00455O Simple Battery Hazard Calculator is a software tool developed in Excel to analyze the electrical hazards of battery systems and determine the required personal protective equipment (PPE) for safe assembly and disassembly. It calculates potential arc flash incident energy, contact thermal hazard level, and recommends PPE based on parameters such as voltage, short circuit current, and over current protection trip time. The calculator uses a recognized method for calculating arc flash incident energy, which was previously inaccessible to most battery workers. ForceFinder

SAND2025-11750O ForceFinder extends the Structural Dynamics Python Libraries (SDynPy) with comprehensive tools for inverse source estimation (ISE) tasks via frequency response function (FRF) matrix inversion. The software is designed for transfer path analysis and multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) vibration control problems. It allows users to estimate sources through various algorithms, from the basic Moore-Penrose pseudo-inverse to statistical learning methods such as Tikhonov regularization via an L-curve and elastic net regularization via an information criterion. ForceFinder uses an object-oriented framework, where all components of the ISE problem—such as FRFs, responses, and transformations—are stored in a "SourcePathReceiver" object. This software can be applied to any noise and vibration problem.
