Heat conductive loss along supporting wires, air conductive loss in evacuated chamber - loss corrections for hemispherical emission measurements by decay method
Design problems of high-performance multilayer insulation systems using evacuated flexible-jacket scheme for cryogenic stages
Cylindrical chamber, consisting of two matching halves, forms a vacuum test fixture for measuring leakage rates of individual connections, brazed joints, and entrance ports used in closed fluid flow line systems. Once the chamber has been sufficiently evacuated, atmospheric pressure holds the two halves together.
Evacuated apparatus determines the alkali oxide content of an alkali metal by separating the metal from the oxide by amalgamation with mercury. The apparatus prevents oxygen and moisture from inadvertently entering the system during the sampling and analytical procedure.
Sublimated titanium as a gettering agent in conjunction with a turbine-type pump provides a two-step procedure for obtaining an ultrahigh vacuum of 10 to the minus 11 torr. The pump alone evacuates the chamber to a pressure of 10 to the minus 9 torr. The residual gas is removed by the gettering agent at a pumping speed of 15 liters per second per square inch.
Elevator-type emergency escape system evacuates personnel from tall structures, especially when the possibility of explosion or fire exists. The system consists of a spike shaped rescue cabin which descends along a vertical guide cable, penetrates the dome shaped roof of an underground blast shelter and stops in a deceleration bed of granular material.
Space charge theory of one-dimensional, monoenergetic, unipolar and bipolar currents traversing on otherwise evacuated space between infinite plane parallel electrodes
Structural model to evaluate evacuated multiwall structure for hypersonic aircraft
Report on the thermal conductivity and dielectric constant of nonmetallic materials evaluates the mechanisms of heat transfer in evacuated silicate powders and establishes the complex dielectric constant of these materials. Experimental measurements and results are related to postulated lunar surface materials.
Heat transfer, and dielectric constants measurements in evacuated silicate powders
Design, manufacture, and application of prefabricated, vacuum-evacuated, insulation panels to 70-inch diam cryogenic test tank
Self evacuating multilayer insulation panel systems for liquid hydrogen space tankage
Miniature, portable resuscitation system is used during evacuation of patients to medical facilities. A carrying case contains a modified resuscitator head, cylinder of oxygen, two-stage oxygen regulator, low pressure tube, and a mask for mouth and nose.
Sampling device, by means of a tapered needle, pierces a sealed container while maintaining the seal and either evacuates or pressurizes the container. This device has many applications in the chemical, preservative and battery-manufacturing industries.
Heat transfer in evacuated multilayer insulation by radiation and conduction, considering optically thin media separating reflective layers
Two-step process for preparing fluorocarbon materials includes - /1/ adding gaseous fluorine to a polyperfluoropolyene to create fluorocarbon radicals, with reactive sites at unsaturated carbon atoms, and /2/ introducing a monomer, after evacuation of fluorine gas, and allowing copolymerization with the free radicals.
Diffusion and ion pump vacuum systems using ionic and kinetic methods of gas evacuation
Air crash rescue operations by helicopter ambulances of U.S. Army Medical Department, discussing postcrash fire suppresion and injured personnel removal, emergency treatment and evacuation
