Search for the dark photon in B 0 → A'A', A' → e + e – , μ + μ – , and π + π – decays at Belle

We present a search for the dark photon A' in the B 0 → A'A' decays, where A' subsequently decays to e + e – , μ + μ – , and π + π – . The search is performed by analyzing 772 × 10 6 $B$$\overline{B}$ events collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e + e – energy-asymmetric collider at the Υ(4S) resonance. No signal is found in the dark photon mass range 0.01 GeV/c 2 ≤ m A' ≤ 2.62 GeV/c 2 , and we set upper limits of the branching fraction of B0 → A'A' at the 90% confidence level. The products of branching fractions, B(B 0 →A'A')×B(A'→e + e – ) 2 and B(B 0 →A'A')×B(A'→μ + μ – ) 2 , have limits of the order of 10 –8 depending on the A' mass. Furthermore, considering A' decay rate to each pair of charged particles, the upper limits of B(B 0 →A'A') are of the order of 10 –8 –10 –5 . From the upper limits of B(B 0 →A'A'), we obtain the Higgs portal coupling for each assumed dark photon and dark Higgs mass. The Higgs portal couplings are of the order of 10 –2 –10 –1 at m h' ≃m B 0 ± 40 MeV/c 2 and 10 –1 –1 at m h' ≃m B 0 ± 3 GeV/c 2 .

Search for e + e − → φ χ c 0 and φ η c 2 ( 1 D ) at center-of-mass energies from 4.47 to 4.95 GeV

Utilizing a dataset of 6.7 fb − 1 from electron-positron collisions recorded by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, a search is conducted for the processes e + e − → ϕ χ c 0 and ϕ η c 2 ( 1 D ) across center-of-mass energies from 4.47 to 4.95 GeV. In the absence of any significant signals, upper limits are set. These include limits on the dressed cross sections for e + e − → ϕ χ c 0 , as well as the product of the dressed cross section for e + e − → ϕ η c 2 ( 1 D ) and a sum of five branching fractions. Furthermore, the product of the electronic width of Y ( 4660 ) and the branching fraction of the Y ( 4660 ) → ϕ χ c 0 , denoted as Γ e + e − Y ( 4660 ) B Y ( 4660 ) → ϕ χ c 0 , is determined to be < 0.35 eV at the 90% confidence level. First search for the weak radiative decays Λ$^+_c$ → Σ + γ and Ξ$^0_c$ → Ξ 0 γ

We present the first search for the weak radiative decays Λ$^+_c$ → Σ + γ and Ξ$^0_c$ → Ξ 0 γ using a data sample of 980 fb -1 collected by the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e + e - collider. Taking the decays Λ$^+_c$ → pK - π + and Ξ$^0_c$ → Ξ - π + as normalization channels, the upper limits at 90% credibility level on the ratios of branching fractions $\mathcal{B}$(Λ$^+_c$ → Σ + γ)/$\mathcal{B}$(Λ$^+_c$ → pK - π + ) < 4.0 x 10 -3 and $\mathcal{B}$(Ξ$^0_c$ → Ξ 0 γ)/$\mathcal{B}$(Ξ$^0_c$ → Ξ - π + ) < 1.2 x 10 -2 are determined. We obtain the upper limits at 90% credibility level on the absolute branching fractions $\mathcal{B}$(Λ$^+_c$ → Σ + γ) < 2.6 x 10 -4 and $\mathcal{B}$(Ξ$^0_c$ → Ξ 0 γ) < 1.8 x 10 -4 .

Observation of $Λ^0_b$ → $D^+ρπ^-π^-$ and $Λ^0_b$ → $D^{*+}ρπ^-π^-$ decays

The multihadron decays $Λ^0_b$ → $D+ρπ-π-$ and $Λ^0_b$ → $D^*+ρπ-π-$ are observed in data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb -1 , collected in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV by the LHCb detector. Using the decay $Λ^0_b$ → $Λ^+_cπ^+π^-π^-$ as a normalisation channel, the ratio of branching fractions is measured to be $\frac {\mathcal{B} ( Λ^0_b → D^+ρπ^-π^-)} {\mathcal{B} (Λ^0_b → Λ^0_cπ^+π^-π^-)}$ x $\frac{\mathcal{B} (D^+ → K^-π^+π^+)} {\mathcal{B}(Λ^o_c → ρK^-π^-)}$ = (%.35 ± 0.21 ± 0.16)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. Dalitz analysis of $D^0 → K^–π^+η$ decays at Belle

We present the results of the first Dalitz plot analysis of the decay D 0 → K – π + η . The analysis is performed on a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 953 fb – 1 collected by the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e + e – KEKB collider. The Dalitz plot is well described by a combination of the six resonant decay channels K ¯ * ( 892 ) 0 η , K – a 0 ( 980 ) + , K – a 2 ( 1320 ) + , K ¯ * ( 1410 ) 0 η , K * ( 1680 ) – π + and K 2 * ( 1980 ) – π + , together with K π and K η S-wave components. The decays K * ( 1680 ) – → K – η and K 2 * ( 1980 ) – → K – η are observed for the first time. We measure ratio of the branching fractions, B ( D 0 → K – π + η ) B ( D 0 → K – π + ) = 0.500 ± 0.002 ( stat ) ± 0.020 ( syst ) ± 0.003 ( B PDG ) . Using the Dalitz fit result, the ratio B ( K * ( 1680 ) → K η ) B ( K * ( 1680 ) → K π ) is measured to be 0.11 ± 0.02 ( stat ) – 0.04 + 0.06 ( syst ) ± 0.04 ( B PDG ) ; this is much lower than the theoretical expectations ( ≈ 1 ) made under the assumption that K * ( 1680 ) is a pure 1 3 D 1 state. The product branching fraction B ( D 0 → [ K 2 * ( 1980 ) – → K – η ] π + ) = ( 2. 2 – 1.9 + 1.7 ) × 10 – 4 is determined. In addition, the π η ' contribution to the a 0 ( 980 ) ± resonance shape is confirmed with 10.1 σ statistical significance using the three-channel Flatté model. We also measure B ( D 0 → K ¯ * ( 892 ) 0 η ) = ( 1.4 1 – 0.12 + 0.13 ) % . This is consistent with, and more precise than, the current world average ( 1.02 ± 0.30 ) % , deviates with a significance of more than 3 σ from the theoretical predictions of (0.51–0.92)%.

Search for a W' boson decaying to a vector-like quark and a top or bottom quark in the all-jets final state at $\sqrt{\mathrm{s}}$ = 13 TeV

A search is presented for a heavy W' boson resonance decaying to a B or T vector-like quark and a t or a b quark, respectively. The analysis is performed using proton-proton collisions collected with the CMS detector at the LHC. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb -1 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Both decay channels result in a signature with a t quark, a Higgs or Z boson, and a b quark, each produced with a significant Lorentz boost. The all-hadronic decays of the Higgs or Z boson and of the t quark are selected using jet substructure techniques to reduce standard model backgrounds, resulting in a distinct three-jet W' boson decay signature. No significant deviation in data with respect to the standard model background prediction is observed. Upper limits are set at 95% confidence level on the product of the W' boson cross section and the final state branching fraction. A W' boson with a mass below 3.1 TeV is excluded, given the benchmark model assumption of democratic branching fractions. In addition, limits are set based on generalizations of these assumptions. These are the most sensitive limits to date for this final state.

Search for pair-produced higgsinos decaying via Higgs or Z bosons to final states containing a pair of photons and a pair of b -jets with the ATLAS detector

A search is presented for the pair production of higgsinos $\tilde{X}$ in gauge-mediated supersymmetry models, where the lightest neutralinos $\tilde{X}^{0}_{1}$ decay into a light gravitino $\tilde{G}$ in association with either a Higgs h or a Z boson. The search is performed with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider using 139 fb -1 of proton–proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}$ = 13TeV. It targets final states in which a Higgs boson decays into a photon pair, while the other Higgs or Z boson decays into a $b\overline{b}$ pair, with missing transverse momentum associated with the two gravitinos. Search regions dependent on the amount of missing transverse momentum are defined by the requirements that the diphoton mass should be consistent with the mass of the Higgs boson, and the $b\overline{b}$ mass with the mass of the Higgs or Z boson. The main backgrounds are estimated with data-driven methods using the sidebands of the diphoton mass distribution. No excesses beyond Standard Model expectations are observed and higgsinos with masses up to 320 GeV are excluded, assuming a branching fraction of 100% for $\tilde{X}^{0}_{1}$ → h$\tilde{G}$. This analysis excludes higgsinos with masses of 130GeV for branching fractions to h$\tilde{G}$ as low as 36%, thus providing complementarity to previous ATLAS searches in final states with multiple leptons or multiple b-jets, targeting different decays of the electroweak bosons.
