Lost Muons Analysis
Abstract
The Muon g-2 experiment at FermiLab represents a significant scientific endeavor aimed at measuring the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, $a_µ$, with a precision of 140 parts per billion (ppb). During my internship at FermiLab, I focused on the simulation and analysis of Lost Muons, a critical aspect to ensure the accuracy of the experimental results. I conducted a detailed study of the beam dynamics using the existing simulation, I generated a new simulation sample enrich of events with lost muons, I analyzed it and compared the results I obtained with those from the Run-2 dataset acquired by the experiment. In this report I will briefly describe my work, discuss the results and suggest future improvements.
