Modeling and simulation of multiphase flows

Abstract

Multiphase flow can be found in a wide range of natural and industrial systems, such as sediment flow in rivers and coasts to pipeline transport, and reactors of all types. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling provides a rigorous physics-based method to visualize and quantify these flows and to assess their influence on their surroundings. This presentation will highlight computational research on two varied technologies in the energy sector: carbon capture and wellbore acoustics.
