Materials Data on U3In by Materials Project
Abstract
U3In is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. U is bonded to eight equivalent U and four equivalent In atoms to form distorted UU8In4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent UU8In4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent InU12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent UU8In4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent InU12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent UU8In4 cuboctahedra. All U–U bond lengths are 3.16 Å. All U–In bond lengths are 3.16 Å. In is bonded to twelve equivalent U atoms to form InU12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent InU12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent UU8In4 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent InU12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent UU8In4 cuboctahedra.
