Materials Data on CeGd3 by Materials Project
Abstract
Gd3Ce is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Gd is bonded to eight equivalent Gd and four equivalent Ce atoms to form GdCe4Gd8 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent GdCe4Gd8 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent CeGd12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent GdCe4Gd8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent CeGd12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent GdCe4Gd8 cuboctahedra. All Gd–Gd bond lengths are 3.56 Å. All Gd–Ce bond lengths are 3.56 Å. Ce is bonded to twelve equivalent Gd atoms to form CeGd12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent CeGd12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent GdCe4Gd8 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent CeGd12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent GdCe4Gd8 cuboctahedra.
