Materials Data on IrPt3 by Materials Project
Abstract
Pt3Ir is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ir is bonded to twelve equivalent Pt atoms to form IrPt12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent IrPt12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent PtIr4Pt8 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent IrPt12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent PtIr4Pt8 cuboctahedra. All Ir–Pt bond lengths are 2.79 Å. Pt is bonded to four equivalent Ir and eight equivalent Pt atoms to form PtIr4Pt8 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent PtIr4Pt8 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent IrPt12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent PtIr4Pt8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent IrPt12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent PtIr4Pt8 cuboctahedra. All Pt–Pt bond lengths are 2.79 Å.
