Materials Data on Al3Cd by Materials Project
Abstract
CdAl3 is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Cd is bonded to twelve equivalent Al atoms to form CdAl12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent CdAl12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent AlAl8Cd4 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent CdAl12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent AlAl8Cd4 cuboctahedra. All Cd–Al bond lengths are 2.97 Å. Al is bonded to four equivalent Cd and eight equivalent Al atoms to form AlAl8Cd4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent AlAl8Cd4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent CdAl12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent AlAl8Cd4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent CdAl12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent AlAl8Cd4 cuboctahedra. All Al–Al bond lengths are 2.97 Å.
