Materials Data on MnCd3 by Materials Project
Abstract
MnCd3 is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mn is bonded to twelve equivalent Cd atoms to form MnCd12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent MnCd12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent CdMn4Cd8 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent MnCd12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent CdMn4Cd8 cuboctahedra. All Mn–Cd bond lengths are 3.04 Å. Cd is bonded to four equivalent Mn and eight equivalent Cd atoms to form CdMn4Cd8 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent CdMn4Cd8 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent MnCd12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent CdMn4Cd8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent MnCd12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent CdMn4Cd8 cuboctahedra. All Cd–Cd bond lengths are 3.04 Å.
