Materials Data on SrMnN2 by Materials Project
Abstract
SrMnN2 crystallizes in the monoclinic P2_1/c space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sr2+ is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four N3- atoms. There are a spread of Sr–N bond distances ranging from 2.60–2.71 Å. Mn4+ is bonded to four N3- atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing MnN4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Mn–N bond distances ranging from 1.76–1.89 Å. There are two inequivalent N3- sites. In the first N3- site, N3- is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Sr2+ and two equivalent Mn4+ atoms. In the second N3- site, N3- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to one Sr2+ and two equivalent Mn4+ atoms.
