Materials Data on SrYb by Materials Project
Abstract
SrYb crystallizes in the hexagonal P-6m2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sr is bonded to six equivalent Sr and six equivalent Yb atoms to form SrSr6Yb6 cuboctahedra that share corners with eighteen equivalent SrSr6Yb6 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent SrSr6Yb6 cuboctahedra, edges with twelve equivalent YbSr6Yb6 cuboctahedra, faces with eight equivalent SrSr6Yb6 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent YbSr6Yb6 cuboctahedra. All Sr–Sr bond lengths are 4.14 Å. All Sr–Yb bond lengths are 4.05 Å. Yb is bonded to six equivalent Sr and six equivalent Yb atoms to form YbSr6Yb6 cuboctahedra that share corners with eighteen equivalent YbSr6Yb6 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent YbSr6Yb6 cuboctahedra, edges with twelve equivalent SrSr6Yb6 cuboctahedra, faces with eight equivalent YbSr6Yb6 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent SrSr6Yb6 cuboctahedra. All Yb–Yb bond lengths are 4.14 Å.
