Abstract
Sr5Fe5O14 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pmmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are three inequivalent Sr sites. In the first Sr site, Sr is bonded to twelve O atoms to form SrO12 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent SrO12 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent SrO12 cuboctahedra, faces with six FeO6 octahedra, and faces with two equivalent FeO5 trigonal bipyramids. There are a spread of Sr–O bond distances ranging from 2.73–3.11 Å. In the second Sr site, Sr is bonded in a distorted q6 geometry to eleven O atoms. There are a spread of Sr–O bond distances ranging from 2.70–2.82 Å. In the third Sr site, Sr is bonded in a distorted q6 geometry to ten O atoms. There are a spread of Sr–O bond distances ranging from 2.66–2.71 Å. There are six inequivalent Fe sites.
