Materials Data on LiHf by Materials Project
Abstract
LiHf is Magnesium-derived structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P-6m2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Li is bonded to six equivalent Li and six equivalent Hf atoms to form LiLi6Hf6 cuboctahedra that share corners with eighteen equivalent LiLi6Hf6 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent LiLi6Hf6 cuboctahedra, edges with twelve equivalent HfLi6Hf6 cuboctahedra, faces with eight equivalent LiLi6Hf6 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent HfLi6Hf6 cuboctahedra. All Li–Li bond lengths are 2.96 Å. All Li–Hf bond lengths are 3.22 Å. Hf is bonded to six equivalent Li and six equivalent Hf atoms to form HfLi6Hf6 cuboctahedra that share corners with eighteen equivalent HfLi6Hf6 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent HfLi6Hf6 cuboctahedra, edges with twelve equivalent LiLi6Hf6 cuboctahedra, faces with eight equivalent HfLi6Hf6 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent LiLi6Hf6 cuboctahedra. All Hf–Hf bond lengths are 2.96 Å.
