Materials Data on Pt3Pb by Materials Project
Abstract
Pt3Pb is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Pt+0.67- is bonded to eight equivalent Pt+0.67- and four equivalent Pb2+ atoms to form PtPt8Pb4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent PtPt8Pb4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent PbPt12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent PtPt8Pb4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent PbPt12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent PtPt8Pb4 cuboctahedra. All Pt–Pt bond lengths are 2.92 Å. All Pt–Pb bond lengths are 2.92 Å. Pb2+ is bonded to twelve equivalent Pt+0.67- atoms to form PbPt12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent PbPt12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent PtPt8Pb4 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent PbPt12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent PtPt8Pb4 cuboctahedra.
