Astrophysics from the moon

Abstract

Ideas presented at the Workshop on Astrophysics from the moon, held in Annapolis, Maryland, in February 1990, are discussed. Consideration is given to the formation of stars and planetary systems, the possibility of earthlike planets among the nearby stars, the possible existence of life and intelligence elsewhere, the current status of the sun and other stars, the evolution of the early universe, and environmental and site considerations for initial observatories.
