Separation processes in monotectic systems
Abstract
Low-gravity work is reviewed and various factors influencing phase distribution are analyzed. The behavior of miscibility gap type materials in low gravity is studied. The nature of the attraction between the solution and the container or surface affects the volume of the minority phase available to form dispersed droplets as well as the extent of undercooling of the monotectic reaction.
