On X-rays from thunderclouds
Abstract
The question of X-ray generation in thunderclouds is examined. Energetic electrons may be produced by the large electric fields of return strokes and, in turn, give rise to bremsstrahlung X-rays. Estimates of the X-ray fluxes are presented.
