Review comments of shuttle-based cometary experiments
Abstract
The experiments considered are in two groups: on-board experiments and overboard experiments. The on-board experiments include the determination of bulk properties and processes (within solids) and observations of exposure panels (near surface phenomena) The overboard experiments consist of analysis of gas/dust shells by observation from the shuttle and observation by sub-satellites. Experimental parameters are discussed with emphasis on work that is unique to low gravity and high vacuum environments.
