A search for hard X-rays from extragalactic objects.
Abstract
Obtained results are reported on three known extragalactic sources - M87, M31, and 3C 273 - studied in the 20-300 keV range from balloons in 1970. With the possible exception of M87, a null result was obtained in each case. The statistical uncertainties of the M87 measurements are pointed out, and the implications of the null results are discussed.
