Comet Spectra
Abstract
The nature and chemical composition of comets as determined by their spectral energy distributions and polarization of the scattered radiation are discussed. The study is divided into two parts: (1) a description of the spectra and, (2) a discussion of the excitation mechanisms responsible for their production.
