Phishing in the Wild: An Ecologically Valid Study of the Phishing Tactics and Human Factors that Predict Susceptibility to a Phishing Attack

In this research, 153 employees at a National Laboratory received one of one of four different phishing emails. All of the emails were similar in content, but systematically varied according to the number and combination of phishing tactics in the message. Participants were unaware they would be receiving the email, which was sent during regular business hours. After receiving the emails, participants completed online questionnaires designed to measure possible predictors of phishing attack susceptibility. Finally, the significant predictors included how suspicious participants were of the email and their reported level of distress related to their work prior to completing the study.

Evaluating and Explaining Natural Language Generation with GenX

Current methods for evaluation of natural language generation models focus on measuring text quality but fail to probe the model creativity, i.e., its ability to generate novel but coherent text sequences not seen in the training corpus. We present the GenX tool which is designed to enable interactive exploration and explanation of natural language generation outputs with a focus on the detection of memorization. We demonstrate the utility of the tool on two domain-conditioned generation use cases - phishing emails and ACL abstracts.

pnnl/hypernetx-widget

Hnx-widget is a Jupyter notebook widget for visualizing hyper graphs that is intended to work in conjunction with the HyperNetX open source package developed by PNNL. It renders hyper graphs using Euler diagrams (a Venn diagram is a special type of Euler diagram). The tool contains simple interactions that allow the user to select nodes and change their appearance. It scales to small to medium sized (100 node) hyper graphs
