The Feynman Center for innovation is responsible for all of the Laboratory’s technology transfer activities. Green Theme Technologies Inc. developed a chemical finishing technology that uses a high pressure, water-free, thermally triggered polymerization process to produce a thin conformal polymer coating around fabric fibers. This process can be used to embed selective, disinfectant chemicals to provide an anti-microbial, anti-viral finish to fabrics. In the face of COVID-19, the company hopes this process produces a permanent, laundry-durable, anti-pathogenic finish. Essentially, creating regenerative and reusable PPE.
