Generation of Multigroup Multiband Nuclear Data
Historically, deterministic pre-processing methods have been used for generating multigroup (MG) and multigroup multiband (MGMB) cross sections. These deterministic methods require an assumption of the shape for the scalar ux. There has been increasing interest in utilizing Monte Carlo transport as a method to generate these cross sections since the energy self-shielding and resonance overlap are fully accounted for. The purpose of this project is to implement and test the capability of generating these cross sections in Mercury.
