A miniature fatigue test machine
The objective is to enable the student to generate statistically sound fatigue data sets on wire specimens of varying diameter, microstructure, or material. The student can then assess the effect of these parameters of fatigue resistance. The student can also be exposed to ASTM techniques for fatigue data reduction and presentation. Experiments involving variable amplitude block loading are also easily conducted.
