Advanced Sensors for Hydrogen Technology
This gap analysis study included all parts of the hydrogen value chain, from hydrogen generation, to storage, and end use, with the exception of transportation applications. While these research projects are not always commercially viable, they are important in advancing technology, and especially in reaching goals such as improved efficiency and reducing emissions. Without emissions targets enforced by the government, or incentives for industry for emissions reduction, investing in advanced technology and manufacturing system upgrades can be exceedingly difficult to justify. This analysis identifies and prioritizes sensor R&D development areas that are critical to enable the hydrogen economy.
