Evaluating Property Model Accuracy for Cost Optimization of Desalination Technologies
Conference presentation conveying work conducted on property modeling and implications on cost optimization of seawater desalination technology. The authors assess the accuracy of four different property modeling approaches to represent thermodynamic properties of seawater. These properties are used with process flowsheets that include either reverse osmosis or mechanical vapor compression. The accuracy of property estimation is related to deviations in process design and levelized cost.
