The slit and multiplier tube of the spectrograph are replaced by an intensifier tube scanner. Two data-collection schemes are described. Results and future directions are discussed as is an application to rockets.
The Wisconsin echelle spectrograph has been placed under computer control. The early operating system and techniques are discussed, as is the automatic data handling afforded by the computer. Some results are shown and future directions are pointed out.
