Spread spectrum scheduling requests for wireless communication resource
Apparatuses, systems and methods are disclosed for wireless communication. A base station may communicate with a plurality of user equipments (UEs) without allocating spectral resources to the UEs for communicating scheduling requests. The base station may detect a scheduling request from a requesting UE of the plurality of UEs. The scheduling request may include a spread spectrum signal based on a spreading sequence. The scheduling request may indicate an identity for a requesting UE without indicating information other than the identity. The base station may grant spectral resources to the requesting UE in response to detecting a scheduling request.
Examining the Performance of Walsh-DSSS Against FBMC-SS in HF Channels
Abstract—Filter bank multicarrier spread spectrum (FBMCSS) has proven to be a robust and reliable waveform choice for communication over high frequency (HF) skywave links. However, the performance of this waveform has yet to be contextualized against typical robust HF waveforms, such as the Walsh-encoded waveform detailed in the MIL-STD-188-110D, Appendix D document. In this paper, we first outline the advantages of both the Walsh and FBMC-SS waveforms as well as present their developments. Simulation results are then presented for ideal, simulated HF, and HF with interference channel conditions. Lastly, skywave-HF results are presented for these two waveforms both with and without interference.
Systems, devices and methods for communicating data with unmanned aerial vehicles using underlay broadcast channel
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and base station are disclosed that communicate within a first cell via schedule requests to set up transmission of up-link data. The UAV additionally communicates up-link data via a grant-free underlay broadcast channel to one or more neighboring base stations of the terrestrial cellular network. Transmitters, receivers, related methods are also disclosed for modulation and demodulation of the transmission packets.
