Search for B 0 β K *0 π + β’π β Decays at the Belle II Experiment
We present a search for the rare flavor-changing neutral-current decay π΅ 0 βπΎ *0 β’π + β’π β with data collected by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB electron-positron collider. The analysis uses a 365 fb β1 data sample recorded at the center-of-mass energy of the Οβ‘(4β’π) resonance. One of the π΅ mesons produced in the Οβ‘(4β’π)βπ΅ 0 $β’\overline{π΅}$ 0 process is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode, while its companion π΅ meson is required to decay into a πΎ *0 and two π leptons of opposite charge. The π leptons are reconstructed in final states with a single electron, muon, charged pion or charged π meson, and additional neutrinos. We set an upper limit on the branching fraction of β¬β‘(π΅ 0 βπΎ *0 β’π + β’π β )<1.8Γ10 β3 at the 90% confidence level, which is the most stringent constraint reported to date.
