Visible and infrared structure of Florida convection and its implications for estimating rainfall
The relation between cloudiness and rainfall is analyzed. The precipitation characteristics of cloudy cell grids obtained by the visible and IR techniques and the effects of the two techniques on the precipitation prediction are investigated. The variability of the rainfall rate is examined in terms of temperature, cloud cover, visible count, and the convective cycle.
